Estonia is a cold, dark former Soviet country on the edges of Europe known more for its innovations, such as Skype and E-governance, than its cuisine. The country’s bland food is a far cry from the spicy and oily curries of the subcontinent. Despite this, Indian food has become a staple of Estonian cuisine.
1. Café & Restaurant Ginger

2. Restaurant Chakra
At Chakra, the clay oven is the core of our cooking. We offer sumptuous Indian cuisine using only the finest ingredients. Set in a perfectly restored historic limestone merchant house, beautifully decorated with icons and antiques. 3. Restaurant Elevant
Food guarantees the most extraordinary experience. The menu combines elements from the history of far-away India and the noisy streets of present-day Calcutta, from the cuisine of five-star hotels and the kitchen of North-Indian homes to other national cuisines and Ayurveda treatment. A wide choice of traditional vegetarian food and untraditional meat dishes is available -something you cannot find anywhere else in Tallinn.
Location: Vene 5, Tallinn 10123, Estonia
4. Restaurant Villa Thai
Restaurant Villa Thai's food is cooked under Nepalese chefs' watchful eyes.
We have toned down the spiciness of Thai and Indian food to make it more suitable for the Nordic palate. However, if you wish, you can experience the full heat of Thai and Indian cuisine.
Villa Thai is a perfect place for bigger parties. A private room called the Elephant Room has enough space for 16 people on its couches, the Big Hall of the restaurant has enough room for 40, and the sofas in the Lotus Room are big sufficiently for 10.
Location: Jüri Vilmsi tänav 6, Kesklinna linnaosa, Tallinn
5. Restaurant Lendav Taldrik Resto
Restaurant Lendav Taldrik Resto is at the heart of Telliskivi Loomelinnak – it is art and entertainment, fascinating nightlife, and cuisine inspired by Asian flavours.
Our windows offer an impressive view of the freight trains. Thus, it is not a typical Asian restaurant – it is more open, urban, and in complete contrast with the Tallinn Old Town.
Come and let yourself be surprised!
