According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the much-speculated VR/AR headset will have an "iOS-like" operating system with several features, currently on the iPhone and iPad, making it feel suitable for apple users.
This contains a home screen with arrangeable app icons and movable widgets. According to Gurman, the headgear, which is rumoured to be called the "Reality Pro," will let users view their Mac's display in virtual reality while operating it with a traditional keyboard and touchpad or mouse (Apple is developing air typing, but it won't be available at launch). The main selling point is the external cameras that track the user's hands, and eyes will be in the headset.
Similar to FaceTime, Apple's VR headgear is expected to have virtual meeting spaces, video chat, and VR content from well-known brands like Disney and Dolby. According to Bloomberg, Apple TV+ programming will also be suited for the headgear. Other compatible applications are Safari, Photos, Mail, Messages, Apple TV+, Apple Music, Calendar, and Podcasts.
There will also be an App Store with support for Siri and third-party content. According to the report, a swappable external battery pack increases battery life to about two hours. This revelation confirms earlier rumours about custom lenses that fit within the headset, which will be good news for anyone who uses glasses. According to Gurman "It is roughly the size of two iPhone 14 Pro Max placed on top of each other," , also he reported that Apple has some internal features with a battery inside.
Gurman says the headset is likely to be called the "Reality Pro".The company has filed for trademark for its name and fixed a cost of $3,000 approximately which would double the price of Quest Pro.
